8 A Day Keeps The Doctor Away!

8 A Day Keeps The Doctor Away! - BlenderBottle

We've all been told that we should drink eight 8oz glasses of water a day (as a general rule, anyway. Actual need may vary depending on health, activity, weight, etc.) But let's be honest, how many of us actually do that? Below are 8 tips to help make sure you get your eight 8oz glasses a day:

1. Keep a bottle of water on your desk at work or where you are at most of the day. Take little sips throughout the day. You'll be amazed at how fast the water goes.

2. Enhance the taste of your water. Keep it chilled in the fridge, add really good ice (like the soft "pellet" ice), or put lemons, limes, cucumber, raspberries, mint or any other tasty treat in it!

3. Buy a big bottle. This way you only have to drink 2 or 3 bottles instead of 8 glasses. Somehow this plays a trick on your mind and makes it much easier to do. Now here's our shameless sales plug: buy one of our large 28oz BlenderBottle Classic or SportMixer bottles and you only have to drink 2.28 of them a day. Easy!

4. Learn the nutritional value of drinking water. This will help you keep drinking when you feel like you're about to float away. Some quick facts: every system in your body depends on water, water flushes toxins out of vital organs, and water helps with losing weight and keeping it off.

5. Make it a competition with yourself, coworkers, your spouse, friend, or even your dog. Have a small prize for whoever wins. Who doesn't like some friendly competition?

6. When you crave junk food, try drinking a glass of water first. It will curb your appetite, helping make sure you don't eat those unnecessary calories.

7. When you're cold (which probably won't be happening for a while now that it's summer), drink a cup of hot water with honey instead of hot chocolate, tea, or coffee. Again, it limits your calories and adds to your 8 glasses a day.

8. Have a full glass of water with every meal. That takes care of 3 of the 8 right there!

Now 8 glasses doesn't seem so bad, does it? I've taken the challenge for 2 weeks now, and already find that I have more energy, eat less junk food, and simply feel better overall. Try these tips for a week and let us know how you feel!

*This is just a recommended amount; you may need to drink more or less depending on your health, weight, etc.
