6 Motivational Health Hacks for 2014 - BlenderBottle

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle (or really, finding the motivation to do so) isn't always easy. To make the task a little less daunting, we've collected five motivational health hacks for 2014. Give 'em a read, and let us know what works for you!

1. Set SMART Goals.

It's amazing how a well-thought-out and well-planned goal can increase your motivation to complete it. Check out our tips for setting your new years goals, and make sure they're Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely.

2. Try a Tablet.

Tell yourself you're only allowed to watch Netflix, or this weeks 49's game if your on the treadmill, and stick to your commitment. If you've got an iPad or other tablet around, this is easy. No tablet? Grab your phone or MP3 player and get through a new audio book or interesting podcast.

3. Exercise in the Morning, and Avoid the Snooze Button.

There are several benefits to exercising first thing in the morning, including helping you eat better, sleep better, and burning more fat. Another great benefit? Making sure you actually do your workout. If you're like me, the last thing you want to do after a long day of work or school is hit the gym. While you're working on getting up earlier, do your best not to hit the snooze button. It may actually make you more tired.

4. Pay Yourself.

Nothing motivates like money - so if you've invested in gym memberships in the past only to have it go unused, try paying yourself for every at-home workout you complete. Health accessories make great rewards to work towards and are a great way to keep your workouts interesting.

5. Find a Friend.

Having someone to exercise with may be the greatest motivator of all. Sometimes an unspoken competition may push you to be better, and others partners are there to cheer you through an extra set. Beyond that, having someone to be accountable to can help keep you honest in our workouts and diet plan key to any fitness regimen.

6. Invest in a BlenderBottle.

Okay, you knew this was coming, but you have to admit it's a natural fit. Refueling pre-, intra-, or post workout is critical and BlenderBottle products are the best way to do it. In addition to its unparalleled mixing abilities, the SportMixer protein shaker doubles as water bottle, and the GoStak is the ideal portable nutrition system for keeping supplements and portion-controlled snacks handy on the go.
